Mission

We are creating a solid professional network of custom automotive and supporting businesses to provide learning opportunities designed to immediately and directly improve your business (or career).

For a sample of possible topics, see the Discussion page.

The mission of the Rolling Chassis Network is to bring custom automotive services together with modern communication technologies. The Sacramento area offers many opportunities for motivated shops. Whether a fabricator, upholsterer, or dealership, the way to consistently attract new customers (as well as keep folks coming back) is to build a reputation...and to keep it.  There are also ways of ensuring your reputation is shared in the community...today there are many different methods in addition to "word-of-mouth", to gain that reputation.  Partnering with other industry professionals, deploying new communication tools (website, facebook, etc), and joining the Rolling Chassis Networking Group are good examples of such methods.

This is not a car club...more of a business club. A Hot Rodder's Round Table...a "what do you have going on and how can we help" kind of attitude, but not only about your rides but also your business.  My vision is to bring together local custom automotive business owners and career minded professionals with academic, technology, and communications experts to share business advice.  We will utilize various resources, such as print media and online exposure, to promote each others' trusted businesses as well as through direct projects and referrals. We'll meet up occasionally to discuss our defeats and triumphs, share ideas, learn a few new tricks...and with any luck improve our businesses and profits.

You wouldn't know it if you've looked for parts for your project online, but Sacramento and the surrounding area is home to one of the largest and diverse custom automotive communities in the world. There is a reason WyoTech and UTI have built facilities here in recent years... It drives me nuts that a field I find so technologically fascinating, custom automotive, has been so slow adopting technology to improve their businesses, find more customers, and maintain their reputation.  I want to change that...

Group membership may be limited by service offerings due to competition concerns as well as location. Our first group is currently being formed out of Rancho Cordova, CA. There are currently no membership dues, and we aren't selling anything; we believe our skills, experience, education, and reputation stand on their own and can be easily verified. My core business (www.metro-seo.com) delivers SEO services, which of course will be discussed in the group. Bring your ideas – one of the reasons we are starting this group is to educate local custom automotive businesses about available tools, and how to leverage those tools to help their business thrive in today's market.
